Hearing Minutes

Hearing Held at Elmwood Village Office

The village board of trustees met for a public hearing on Wednesday, April 3, 2024. Chairperson Renee Holland called the hearing to order at 7:00 pm. Holland stated that a current copy of the Nebraska Open Meetings Act was posted. Roll call was answered by Becky Kicak, Patric Euse, Tony Greise, Heather Scott and Renee Holland. 9 community members were present for the meeting.

New Business:

Discussion/Action: Proposed zoning change for the property address 205 West C Street from R-1 Residential to C-2 Commercial.

Linda Blunt – 104 Railroad Ave

Linda stated the planning and zoning committee was unable to provide a recommendation on the re-zoning. She apologized for the delay and stated that they had been very busy and things had fallen apart.

Blake Ulmer – 209 S 3rd Street

I will plan on putting my building on this lot regardless of the zoning change. No one will be able to build a home on the property there because the sewer line doesn’t run deep enough. This opportunity will be freeing up two commercial properties on main street for potential businesses.

Board of Trustees –

Holland apologizes for the lack of recommendation from the Planning & Zoning committee. The board wants to do this the right way and will wait for an official recommendation before making any vote on the proposed zoning change.

No further discussion.

Meeting adjourned at 7:06 PM.
