VILLAGE OF ELMWOOD

Board of Trustees Regular Meeting – June 17, 2014

 

The Village of Elmwood Board of Trustees met in Regular Session with Trustees Allgayer, Ronhovde, and Chairman Wilhelm presiding; Trustees Clements and Ernst were absent. The meeting was called to order at 7:02 p.m. All signed the “Notice of Acknowledgement of Meeting”. Chairman Wilhelm declared the “Open Meeting Act” posted. Visitors present:  Sandy Thompson Dinslage, Pat Wray, and Diann Stille. Ed Blunt and Connie Carlton were also present.

 

Motion by Allgayer to approve the minutes of the June 4, 2014 Board Meeting as presented; second by Ronhovde. Vote: Yes: All, No: None. Motion carried.

 

Streets: Hwy 1 through Elmwood will get topcoat starting June 25. Park: Two trees damaged from storm were removed. New benches to be placed in park. The trail has been sprayed through the park.  Water: Doors have been installed on well houses. Sewer: The 24-hour composite test complete. Allgayer motion to approve jetting of sewer mains at a cost not to exceed $3,000.00; second by Ronhovde. Vote: Yes: All, No: None. Motion carried. Planning:   Commission meeting Thursday, June 26.

 

New Business: Motion by Allgayer to postpone vote for Trustee Board Member appointment until July 2 Board Meeting; second by Ronhovde. Vote: Yes: All, No: None. Motion carried. There will be two additional vacancies on the Board of Trustees this year. Motion by Ronhovde to approve the deck building permit for 109 East D Street with the modification of a 42” depth instead of 36” depth contingent upon deck meeting 10’ setback; second by Allgayer. Vote: Yes: All, No: None. Motion carried. Motion by Allgayer to approve a building permit for a shed at 208 North 1st Street; second by Ronhovde. Vote: Yes: All, No: None. Motion carried.

 

Presentation of Claims for Payment: Ak-Sar-Ben Sewer Cleaning $535.00, Black Hills Energy $119.37, Columbus Telegram $26.01, Elmwood Equipment $46.04, Mid-American Research Chemical $96.22, Midwest Farmers Coop $82.70, Midwest Labs $340.41, Payroll $2,432.99, Quill $269.91, US Treasury $1,711.66, Verizon $68.54. Motion by Allgayer to approve the claims as presented for payment; second by Ronhovde. RCV: Yes: All, No: None. Motion carried.
