Clean Up Day Brought The Junk Out!

The line of cars at 9:00 in the morning shows how many people were ready for this day. There were two dumpsters at the end of the street. One was for the trash and one was for recyclables. When the trash dumpster was full it was replaced with an empty one. There were at least three trash dumpsters hauled away and one for recycle. The Village Board members and other village employees were willing volunteers in this great effort to clean up the town. What a grand service for us to be able to have our junk hauled away for free! I'm already collecting for next year!

This was about 10:30 am. They just kept coming!

Dave Ernst and John McNaught were helping to unload the trucks and fill the dumpster.

It seems that everyone had an appliance to get rid of that day! That's our multicolored bench propped on top! We did our best to help out the cause. Three truckloads!

The bobcat was a lifesaver. It was able to grab the big pieces of furniture and drop it in and then it could also pack down the pile.

We called it "The Claw."

This is what's left of a recliner.

And who was the mastermind behind "The Claw"? Lou Allgayer, of course! He had a great time grabbing furniture and tossing it into the dumpster.

Kurt Wilhelm, Ed Blunt, and Dave Ernst, volunteers for the clean up effort, took a break while waiting for the next dumpster to arrive.

Kenny Erickson and Grace Ronhovde also took a little break.

Rebecca and Christian Brettmann helped Dad, Nathan Brettmann, bring a couple of loads up. It was a real family affair for several families.
Heaven is rejoicing tonight as the angels welcome Landon Shrader into their arms. His dad and mom, Trent and Karen Shrader, know that he is now free and he will be waiting to see them again. In Landon's short life he touched more hearts than anyone will ever know. Trent's blog about their experiences was read by many and many cried and prayed for them. Landon held on longer than any of the doctors could have predicted but he was surrounded by the love of his parents and friends and family. He chose Tuesday to go to heaven because it is his dad's 24th birthday. Trent said that Landon gave him the best birthday present ever...the joy of being a little boy in heaven. Bless you, Landon. Hugs and prayers for your family.
