Ken and Jo Snyder have been married 50 years. I just don't know how that is possible...they must have been babies when they got married! Congratulations to a very happy couple. They are never without a smile on their faces and one to share with you. They keep busy with their kids and grandkids and many other volunteer activities. I hope everyone got a chance to wish them happy anniversary but if you didn't just stop in Bits and Pieces...you are bound to catch them working there. Or find them on facebook to send your greeting! They are very active there, too!

It's Cass County Fair Week!!

I hope you got your 4-H projects turned in and are ready for the judging. I'm excited to go see everyone's handiwork. I love the fair and seeing everyone. The animals, the midway, the races, the funnel cakes...can't wait! I hope to see you all there and remember...perfect opportunity for a selfie with me! Let's see who reads the newsletter and catches me for a selfie! I'll be there all day Saturday for sure and any other time I can sneak over.

Kirstin

Kirstin Callaway, daughter of Tim and Cathy Callaway, is Miss Elmwood 2014. As a recent graduate of Elmwood Murdock Kirstin received multiple scholarships and is planning on attending Nebraska Wesleyan University to get a degree in Health and Fitness and then transfer to Colorado
State University to get a Masters in Pediatric Occupational Therapy. Kirstin was a 4-year member of the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA). At the 2013 State FBLA Conference, the Annual Business Report she co-authored won 1^st place and qualified for the National FBLA Conference in Anaheim, CA. In 2014, she qualified for the National FBLA Conference in Nashville, TN in both Annual
Business Report and Website Design. She is an extraordinary young woman.

Elmwood Murdock School Handbook Goes Digital

School will be starting on Thursday, August 14th. In an effort to cut down on expenses and paper the school has emailed the Student-Parent Handbook to all parents with an email address on file. You can also find the handbook on the E-M School website, too. If you would prefer a hard copy you can request that, too. Either way parents and students must complete the form that says they have read the handbook and return to the school
