Halloween in Elmwood
Did you go and see the Haunted Rooms at the Quonset?
Becky Callaway and Kevin Huxhold did a fantastic job. Who knew they were so into Halloween.
I hope this event gets bigger and bigger every year and brings people from other towns.
I hope you have taken a look around town and enjoyed the fall decorations and Halloween decorations BEFORE it snowed.
Did you see the Gazebo going up? It's going to be epic when it's finished!!
The year 2020 is looking good for a possible calendar line up of activities and events.
Do you want to get in on the planning?
The paved sidewalks will lead to a new parking lot area on the south side of the park. Accessibility sidewalks are also being poured from the existing parking lot to the picnic area. Something that has been desperately needed!!
If you would like to be on the park planning committee or participate in brainstorming or planning events for 2020 please email email@example.com
2019 HOLIDAY EXTRAVAGANZA - Saturday, November 30 - the theme for this year's Holiday Extravaganza and Starry Knight Parade - "I Remember."
Veterans G.A.R. Hall Veterans Museum
The G.A.R. Hall and Veterans Museum would like to include a display of "I Remember" stories from veterans and/or their families at the museum.
Submit special memories - maybe it was your first Christmas away from family, maybe it was spent in basic training, deployed, in the jungles of Vietnam, on the desert of Afghanistan, on a ship in the middle of the ocean, etc.
For the families, maybe it was a special phone call from a far-away service member.
"I Remember" stories can be submitted to firstname.lastname@example.org or mailed to Elmwood G.A.R.Hall Veterans Museum, c/o 402 East D Street, Elmwood 68349, for display during the 2019 Holiday Extravaganza.
Starry Knight Parade
It will be here before you know it.
The Starry Knight parade happens at night. So how do you see the entries? Lights? Lights strung around tires, on floats. but lights with no extension cords. Battery-powered lights. Think about having an entry this year. Gather your groups, organization, or business and come up with something fun and imaginative.

Writers are encouraged to focus on historical and/or realistic topics. Youth groups and other civic groups do litter pick-up, sponsor Easter egg hunts, collect food for those less fortunate and meet for crafting, among lots of other events.
Be sure to check the calendar to the right for upcoming events, also.
