"Pie Ride" Bike Ride
The next and LAST Pie Ride for the season was a success by evidenced by the line of bikes lined up at the wall.

The pies were yummy and there is a reason for people to get there early. Otherwise, there may be only two different kinds of pie. But everyone loves apple pie right?

Riders were thankful for the air conditioning at the church.

In coordination with St Paul Methodist Church, United Methodist Health Fund, Hutchinson, Kansas, and Bits & Pieces five bicycles are available to check out (just like a library book) and ride around town, to the park, or on the trail.

- To check out a bike, you must sign a waiver. General bike share program rules-
must show a drivers license at check out - 12-17 can rent bikes with a parent at check out. Parents take full responsibility and sign a waiver for their child.
- The bike is due back by the next Bits and Pieces business day. Plans are in the works to get a key dropbox. (Stay tuned.)
- The condition of the bike is checked at check out and when it is checked back in
when you check out a bike you are responsible for the bike. Any damage will result in a fee.
failure to return the bike by the due date will result in the suspension of your ability to check out bikes. - No holds/reservations on bikes will be allowed
- We do not provide helmets. You can bring your own helmet to use while riding the bike.
- Have fun!!!!
Funding for this project was provided in part by the United Methodist Health Fund, Hutchinson, Kansas.💗 About 30 people attended the official ribbon cutting on April 12th and I was even the first person to check out a bike. It's easy and once you are registered you just add the next date and time to the notebook.

Cass County Refuse Shoutout

Some of you may know I'm moving, some may not. But I'm only moving a couple of blocks from E street to C street.
But I have to brag about the service from Cass County Refuse.
They really go above and beyond with customer service. If you need to get rid of mattresses, box springs, even couches they PICK IT UP!!! Seriously. You don't need to hire a truck, borrow a trailer or beg for help. It's $10 per couch and only $5.00 for a mattress or box spring. For a single woman with little body strength that is a BIG deal. I will shout their praises to anyone who will listen...and if you got this far you were listening. So thank you.

Village Board Meeting
Board meetings are open to the public and are held every 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month.
The meetings are held at the new Village Board office located at the Learning Center on the south side of town.
Official agendas are posted the day before at the Post Office, Gas Station, and Village Office. Prior to the posting of the agenda, meeting items can be added to the meeting. At the end of each meeting is a Public Comment Section. Attendees have three minutes to speak about anything at this time. Further discussion on the topic can then be added to the next board meeting.
The agenda is posted at the Elmwood C-Store, the post office, and the Village office.
Minutes can be viewed at the Village office or can be found online.

Wouldn't it be amazing if the board meetings were FULL every time? This is your opportunity to be involved, be "in the know" and learn how to influence how your community grows, how improvements can be made, and how you can participate in the steps needed to MAKE IT HAPPEN.
