Pie Ride THIS Thursday

Come to the Elmwood Community Center tonight from 5:00-8:00 for a piece of pie! The Pie Ride is happening in the Bess Streeter Aldrich Park and the Community Center is hosting the pie for sale in the air conditioning! Come and cool off and enjoy some pie!

A FREE concert from one of our own American Idol contestants!!

Start biking in Eagle, or Wabash. If you're not biking - bring a lawn chair. (Music at the Quonset if the weather is bad/too hot.)

  Murdock 4th of July!! 

It wouldn't be the 4th of July without the annual parade and celebrations in Murdock.

  Farmers Market Saturdays

  The produce is now coming back after the hail storms of last month.

Make sure to check out the Farmers Market at the park and shop local. Support the creators and makers of your community. 

Support small and make an impact locally instead of going to the large corporations.

You never know what bills you may be helping people pay, or the school clothes they purchase with the sales from products.  

 Elmwood Nebraska Bike Share

The Bike Share program has started back up again.

Anyone wanting to borrow a bike can sign one out during Bits and Pieces business hours.

Village Updates

     Village Board Meeting

Board meetings are open to the public and are held every 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month.

The meetings are held at the new Village Board office located at the Learning Center on the south side of town. 

Official agendas are posted the day before at the Post Office, Gas Station, and Village Office. Prior to the posting of the agenda, meeting items can be added to the meeting. At the end of each meeting is a Public Comment Section. Attendees have three minutes to speak about anything at this time. Further discussion on the topic can then be added to the next board meeting.  

The agenda is posted at the Elmwood C-Store, the post office, and the Village office.

Minutes can be viewed at the Village office or can be found online.

The free pantry is here to serve our community. It is for neighbors helping neighbors. Take what you need or leave what you can.

The Little Free Pantry is located between Hufstader Chiropractor, the Elmwood Meat Market, and the Village Hall.

Dear Avoca friends near and far!

The Avoca Town Hall has been a big part of the Village for many years. Without it many people would be at a loss on where to gather for village events and many other occasions.

The last couple of years have been a struggle due to covid cancellations, funds are short. The Hall is in major need of repairs. Board members are working on raising money to help cover the cost of repairs that need to be made.

1. New Roof
2. Masonry work on front of building
3. Replacement of Deck
4. General Maintenance.

If you would like to help in our efforts to save the Town Hall we
would very much appreciate any monetary donation towards our goal of
$25,000.
