Local Student Makes History by Qualifying for FCCLA National Leadership Conference
By Kate Stock & Erin Hynes

Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) is a student organization that helps young people develop leadership skills, prepare for careers, and make a difference in their communities. One of the most exciting parts of FCCLA is the STAR (Students Taking Action with Recognition) events, where members compete in different categories to showcase their talents and hard work.

One type of competition is the Online STAR Events, where students create and submit digital projects. The Chapter Website STAR Event challenges members to design a website highlighting their school’s FCCLA chapter, including its activities, goals, and achievements.

This year, Quinn Ross made history by becoming the first student in Elmwood-Murdock FCCLA Chapter history to qualify for the FCCLA National Leadership Conference (NLC) in the Chapter Website STAR Event! Their website stood out for its creativity, design, and detailed information, earning them a spot in the national competition.

The National Leadership Conference will take place this summer in Orlando, FL, where students from all over the country will gather to compete, learn, and grow as leaders. We are incredibly proud of Quinn for this amazing accomplishment and wish her the best of luck at NLC!

I know its a long time in the future, BUT, to make events amazing it needs planning. So if you have a pickleball team, but this date in your calendar. If you have a cornhole team, add it to your schedule. f you are a crafter, put it in your calendar. It's important to support Cass County communities that are family-friendly and community-strong.
